The Parenting Insights Library is an award winning resource for parents and educators. The Library is a collection of outstanding, professionally written articles about common parenting problems which can be printed out for parent education purposes. Our articles are highly engaging, easy to read and are written by parents with professional expertise in education, parenting and/or psychology. In addition, the articles are very informative, practical and based upon current child development theory and practice.

 Parenting Insights has gained the support of parents and educators nationwide, and earned the trust and loyalty of more than 500,000 readers. Parenting Insights received the prestigious Parents' Choice Award from the Parents' Choice Foundation. The awards panel of experts recognized Parenting Insights for consistently providing the breadth and depth of information necessary to help parents develop their children's self esteem and reach their potential. The articles in the Library follow the guidelines outlined by the National Parenting Instructors Association. Its editorial content features information, ideas and practical how-to guides appropriate for the socio-emotional development, health and education children and adolescents.

Parenting Insights guidelines help to keep the content of the Library focused and timely, as well as ensure an emphasis on articles which:

• Stress practical ways to help parents set clear rules and expectations, promote accountability for following rules, encourage positive behavior, emphasize cooperation and expectations for age-appropriate behaviors.
• Help parents teach children an appreciation and tolerance for cultural diversity.
• Assist parents to control and guide their children's exposure to mass media and to counter subtle, destructive cultural and gender stereotypes.
• Contribute ideas for balancing parenting and working lives.
• Provide practical ideas to help children achieve success at school and in the future.
• Promote a philosophy that provides a "Model of Humanity" for children by taking care of ourselves as parents, and leading healthy personal and interpersonal lifestyles.

Parenting Insights is published by Susan and Richard Palmer in Redmond WA. Both have credentials in psychology and over 25 years experience working with parents and schools. The Palmers have two adult children. Their professional awareness of child development and the challenges they faced raising youngsters have provided the impetus, direction and enthusiasm for the Library.
